This weekend, in the RV, we are camping – at a real campground. It is a bout 20 minutes from our driveway. We made the decision last winter that we would spend 4th of July weekend here. That was at a time that gas was only $3 a gallon!! The decision was driven more from a desire to not be away for the holiday weekend and to avoid crowds. We don’t usually travel on this weekend, but we thought that we would go to the local state park. Good decision. It is woodsy, quiet, and comfortable. Unfortunately, it is raining quite hard, also. As we were checking in, every car around me was from New York. The had drive for at least 3 hours, spent way more on gas and are enjoying the same ambience that we are. We just got here with less hassle.
Moral again – check out the local area, you might find something that you like.
