This Thursday is Thanksgiving for all Americans. But, for us it is something else. It is the beginning of the longest RV trip we have ever taken!!
On Thursday we will have dinner in “Casa Milonga” with our grown daughter and my ailing 95-year old Mother. The adventurer in me wants to cook the entire meal on the RV. I am sure that I can do it!! After all for just the 4 of us, the turkey breast is not that big!! But, I will likely cook it in my kitchen.
Late morning we will get my Mom at the nursing home and drive to a very nearby breachway and have a noon-time meal sitting right at the ocean’s edge. After the meal, we will drive Mom back “home” and head off to an RV Resort in nearby Massachusetts.
We will meet some family members that camp there each Thanksgiving weekend. We are hoping for good weather – the 70’s that we had last week would be wonderful. But, we will enjoy whatever we get!!
So we will be camping for Thanksgiving for the first time ever. But, somehow I can’t really call it camping. In our younger days, we did some backpacking. Having spent a week “walking" one of the New Hampshire mountain ridge lines, in the rain, in black fly season, it is difficult to call what we will do this weekend “camping”. We will have lots of hot water, heat, real (not freeze-dried) food and a bed. The resort has cable, wi-fi, an indoor pool, rec hall and exercise room. That all is NOT camping. But, it should be fun!!
We will let you know when we get back. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
