About 39 days ago, we walked across the Mississippi in
Bemidji, MN.
Since then we have crossed
in buses, cars and Rvs, for a total of about 50 or 60 times, depending on how
many times we went out for groceries or dancing or whatever! We have slept on
its banks.
We have watches barges move
up and down the river. We have watched
some barges move through the locks. We
have seen barges “parked” in the river, awaiting a tug or tow.
We have cruised on her on a large tourist boat in Minnepolis, on a small tourist boat
in Hannibal and on the last working steamboat, paddle-wheeler. And now we have flown over her in a sea plane,
landing and taking off from her delta.
She
is beautiful river and we have enjoyed her immensely.
