Then it was off to Mass at St. Louis Cathedral. It was an interesting liturgy with wonderful
music from its large pipe organ. One
thing that stands out to me were the prayers, those request that are made
usually for the sick and elderly and the clergy. These seemed to be much more specific for a reduction
in violence, and understanding of loss and misfortune that can only came after
a city has been devastated by a catastrophic event. Hurricane Katrina is still there under the surface.
After Mass we headed for the steamboat Natchez for a Jazz
Brunch Cruise. The day was perfect for a
cruise down the Mississippi. The jazz
trio provided some great tunes to accompany the wonderful buffet. We enjoyed to food, the music, the sights and
sounds of the river.
What a great day!
