Last night we went to a dance. It was a fine dance and we had a good time
After we walked home, we decided that we would try to get some of the March Madness scores. So we turned on the TV in the bedroom. All of a sudden the picture went fuzzy. We tried another channel and it was the same. We then heard a series of pht-t-t-t’s or some such noise. Then there was smoke coming out of the TV area.
Our first thought was to unplug the TV. Doing this in an RV is a bit complicated! On the RV, we have to remove several pieces of wood, loosen the TV bracket and remove the TV from its shelf. Not a quick matter. So, instead, we unplugged the motor home and we spent the next 15 minutes trying to uninstall the TV.
Fortunately, Steve had uninstalled the TV when he installed the digital converter. So we knew what to do. Back then it took him several hours to get it out!! Fifteen minutes was a piece of cake. Once the TV was outside on the picnic table, all was fine – no damage – but the smell of the electrical fire was not good at all. It seems to be ok now!!
To the people that noticed the TV on the table early this morning. No we are not trying to setup an outdoor theater!
