Off to Vermont and Back

We just returned from Quechee Gorge, VT. What a lovely area. We had a wonderful time. Originally, our motivation was to get another state on our state of maps visited with the RV. You know the kind - colored stickers that you can add to the blank map of the US or Canada. We decided that we would include a state if the RV had passed through it, even if we did not overnight there. We have most of the east coast. But, VT and ME were not filled in. So, with that goal in mind, I made reservations for the Quechee Gorge Balloon Festival that was held last weekend.

We got our state - but we had such a great time. Loved the balloon festival. They are such beautiful aircraft - and they just seem to glide into the sky with such grace and beauty. The weather was mostly perfect for it, too. A bit of rain, that cancelled one ascension, but overall a very nice and pretty weekend.

We are like fiends - like kids in a candy store with no limits - during ascensions. We both have cameras and we take pictures upon pictures upon pictures. Over 400 for this weekend. But, the beauty and the grace of the balloons is just captivating.
I will post a few pictures here. Soon they will be in the album. But, we have to weed through them. We take a lot of pictures, but not all of them are presentable!!

We are already talking of going next year. Tho goal next year will not be the aquisition of a state, maybe we can get some friends to be as "devoted" to balloon festivals as we are!!
