We are off. Hopefully, the wind has abated a bit – the forecast said it would – and we will make it to Virginia. We are planning to spend Friday and Saturday just outside of Washington DC. So, we are trying to plan a short day (on Friday) to avoid the beltway hassle. We are trying to arrive around noontime on a Friday of a holiday weekend. Not sure if that is good or bad. Perhaps, there is no good time!!
It is clear and bright and seems like it will be a pleasant day.
Our second stay at Ft. McAllister was as pleasant as the first. But, we had a different site on a different loop and the drive out made Steve say that if you are not careful, you could play a pinball game with your rig and the trees!! Some would say that it is not rig friendly. With our 34-footer, it is fine. But, I would not want to drive a 40-footer down these road. But, then again, I wouldn’t want to drive a 40-footer anywhere!!
