Car 54, Where are you?
For most people, a normal phone conversation starts with “Hi,
How are you?” But, for us, and many
other RV travelers, it is something like this:
“Hi, where are you?” Because we
are on the road a lot and use mostly a cell phone for communication, there is a
need to confirm our location before we can continue with all the other
pleasantries!
My favorite conversation with a fellow RVer was something like
this:
Me: “Hello”
Him: “Hi. Where are
you?”
Me: “We are home.
Where are you?”
Him: “We are home, too.”
Thus confirming that we were standing in our homes, blocks
away from each other.
Because we travel in an RV, for the next phone call, I will
say that I am “home” – that home on wheels, the one that we love, that has a
different backyard at each stop!
