That is a question that has been plaguing me for over a week
now. As we drove through Yellowstone and
then Grand Tetons, everywhere you looked there seemed to be giant, abandoned
pick-up sticks games in the forest. Now
that the National Park Service has decided to let nature control as much of the
park environment as possible, they leave all trees where they fall. The only ones that are removed/moved are
those that adversely affect, roads, trails, buildings and other human
facilities. The result has the
appearance of giant pick-up sticks left wherever they fell.
Now that we have been to Glacier, the same
pick-up sticks are there, too. Maybe
Angels do play pick-up-sticks. After
all, they bowl whenever it thunders.
