It seems that I haven't posted much lately. I want to say that is because we have not been out in the RV much. But, that really is not true. We have been out, I just have been too lazy to post!!
So, here goes. For Father's Day weekend we decided to go to Cape Cod. We picked Cap Cod Campresort in Falmouth as our destination. It was a nice campground. Some nicely wooded sites and some RV-friendly sites that were quite level. Unfortunately, our site faced the dump station - right at the end of our "driveway" and the game room - which seemed to be a little noisy one night. But, all in all there was not much interference from these. The weather was great and we had a good time.
We have a state park - Burlingame State Park - that is about 20 minutes from our house and we have never, ever been there. Not in our former camping days and not since we got the RV. So, the last weekend in June, we drove the 20 minutes to stay there. We were pleasantly surprised - it was very nice. We were not able to get there until very late on Friday night. It seemed as if at least 20 other groups were registering at 9:00 PM. By the time we registered, they said there were not many sites large enough for our RV. He suggested one and off we went. Boy, was he correct, it was a struggle to get the RV in between the trees and the rocks so that we could open the door, drop the steps, and put out the slides. But, it was very nice, once we got positioned. Fortunately, it was a pull-through so we just had to drive out when we left. It was a nice quiet weekend, with lots of reading.
This past weekend we went on a campout with some other RV owners. We were at Wawaloam Campground in West Kingston, RI. What a lovely campground. Very large sites, very quiet area. They served a Friday night dinner and a Sunday Brunch - both of which were very good, we had a great time visiting with friends and making new ones. And we found out that this group is very big on food - lots of great food at the pot luck dinner.
